FALL IS COMING!!!!!!

OH. MY GOSH.

I LOVE FALL!!!!!!!

Seriously, guys. Pumpkin Spice Lattes, cardigans, scarves, and breeze through those awesome colorful trees! *squeals* I know your heart just skipped a beat, too. And it's all on the way!!! Along with it comes some pretty great movies! New releases are getting ready for Oscar season but there's some awesome ones already on Netflix and DVD that can bring the Fall vibe to you while on your couch! Here are some of my favorites. Some of them may not make perfect sense, but hear me out! They remind me of my faaaaaavorite season! I'm so pumped!

1) Dead Poet's Society-1989

Do I really need to explain this one? The movie has Fall written all over it! You can literally smell academia in the air as the wind blows. Or maybe that's just the smell of old books being read outside by students trying to cram for pop quizzes (ahem..Mrs. Burt's lit class). We have all had to read Whitman and Thoreau at least one semester in school. And when I do, I like to pretend that Robin Williams is my teacher. You'll want to wear a scarf and read some poetry after watching this.

2) All The Presidents Men-1976

Is it weird that I miss the drama of last year's Presidential election? I get a phantom adrenaline rush (does that make sense?) every November before realizing it occurs every 4 years. Maybe it's the political thrill or the reminder of the Watergate report I wrote one Fall semester, but I will be watching this film in the next few months while drinking something Pumpkin-y.

3) Arsenic and Old Lace-1944

Obviously by now you can tell I like to kick it old school, but this Cary Grant classic makes the list, hands down. It all takes place on Halloween night! It's the perfect mix of slapstick and creepy humor. The aunts are adorably morbid and Peter Lorre is just weird. Plus, you can never go wrong with looking at Mr. Grant for 2 hours. Trust me on this one. Carve a pumpkin or eat candy from a pillowcase while watching this.

4) American Outlaws-2001

I have no other explanation for this selection besides the fact that I love it. lol It really has nothing to do with Fall. But western movies always make me want to be outside and Autumn weather makes me want to be outside, so it's pretty much the same thing. Also, I used to have this weird habit of watching this movie the night before I would begin a new school year. I can't think of an activity to go along with this so just play in some leaves while pretending to be an outlaw.

5) When Harry Met Sally- 1989

I feel like any Nora Ephron film belongs on a "Fall movies" list. But this one...AHHHHHH....I LOVE THIS ONE!!!! The scene when they walk in the park discussing their dreams is hilarious and perfect. The scenery is beautiful and the soundtrack is amazing music to the ears. This is one of my very favorites. Watch it on a day you can drink coffee and listen to jazz. Yeah, that seems appropriate.

Honorable mention :
P.S. I Love You-2007 -Holly got her last letter in Autumn! Also, I add this movie to every list I make. Deal with it. :P

I'm sure there's more, but those are MY TOP 5! What are your favorite Fall movies? :)

HAPPY FALL!!!!!!!! I want to jump in a pile of leaves right now!
